Today's kickoff forge is a building block sword, and it requires only ONE material: Legos.
VERY important: Forge your building block sword side to side, NOT top to bottom... You can if you want to, but your sword will fall apart when you try to wield it, or even pick it up!
To assemble side to side:
The handle and the blade are one. To make it, make a good long lego sub sandwich with one collumn on each end and 2 collumns in between.
To make the guard of your sword (aka the border between handle and blade), just take a few legos and stick them on sideways, both left and right. Then extend the blade upward.
...And that's your basic building block sword!
Taking it Further: After you've mastered the basic block sword, try making a bigger, longer sword with a lego sandwich of 2 lego collumns on each end and 3 in between.
You can even try making a lego suit of armor, OR make a second lego sword for you and a friend to practice swordfighting with!
