Don't be an Energy Hog

...Every year on Earth day, Poptropica told us that to remind us that we ALL have to live on Earth, and that nobody wants any hogs hogging all the Earth's power!

...Luckily, there are lots of easy ways to go green and save energy. And if you REALLY wanna go green, there's some advanced tips and challenges on this list, too!

Easy tips:

-turn off lights and electronics

when not in use.

-Recycle paper, cans, and plastic

-Don't leave the water faucets running.

-don't litter!

Advanced Tips- -unplug chargers, radios, night lights, and toasters after you're done using them.

-In the daytime, open your windows. Use daylight rather than electric light.

-Use reusable bottles and thermoses instead of plastic bottles.

-If you see littered trash, pick it up!

CHALLENGES- -Reduce food waste! Eat fruits and vegetables instead of packaged foods.

-limit your time on TV and mobile devices to 2 hours a day (aside from computer work and/or classes!)

-Fix your water-leaks!

-plant some seeds somewhere. Grow new plants!

...If you can't follow all these green tips, that's ok. (Who can?) ...Besides, Earth Day's annual goal is to reduce waste, not eliminate it completely. We haven't gotten to that sort of future yet!

But in about fifty (thousand) years or so, maybe there WILL be no more trash waste, and we will have mastered solar, geothermal, and all the other natural power sources... Now THAT'S a sort of future where the Earth wouldn't be harmed at ALL!

...But like I said, we're not there yet! ...So until then, just be sure not to leave on all the lights and TVs in your house for no reason. ...Happy Earth Day, everyone!
